Every type of service agreement has some base maintenance type hours included in the price. These are the hours you would use to plan the maintenance visits on a monthly, quarterly or otherwise frequency.
The settings area of your account gives you the ability to adjust these hours based on your technical staff experience, the tools and test equipment at their disposal and any other situation in your market that may affect the number of hours that are required to perform maintenance activities.
These hours have the biggest effect on the quality of the maintenance you provide you clients. There is a point of diminishing returns, however it is very rare for that point to be reached.
According to the EPA, the return on maintenance hours can be as high as 1,000 percent.
Four of the 6 available type of service agreements will have reserve hours included in the price. The only 2 that do not have this type of hours is the "standard preventive maintenance" and the "inspection only".
These hours are held in reserve and used to perform corrective, repair and replacement activities. If you successfully plan and scheduled the available maintenance hours, some of these reserve hours may be held over several years. That is not to say they won't ever be used, just that their use can be deferred over several years.
If you live in a particularly mild climate you may be able to reduce the multiplier for these hours. On the other hand if your climate is severe it may be wise for you to increase this multiplier.
Material dollars are included in all service agreements with the exception of the "inspection only" offering. These dollars do not include filters, but do include standard consumable items like grease, towels, cleaning supplies etc.
Similar to the reserve hours, the material dollars are held in reserve to deal with corrective, repairs and replacements that are covered by the chosen service agreement type.
Much like the reserve hours, if you successfully plan and schedule your maintenance hours the material dollars can be deferred for several years. Be careful, you will surely spend these dollars at some point replacing parts and components. These items do wear out and need to be repaired or replaced.
